So what is your take on processed lunch meats? I've heard there aren't so great due to the high sodium content?
Alicia -- you are totally right with that. Turkey slices have been one thing I haven't found a convient alternative for. My kids love them. I do search and buy ones with lower sodium content, but it is still pretty high. I just can't see me buying a real turkey and slicing it on a regular basis. Any ideas?
Hi there, Trainer Momma...great blog...my kids LOVE turkey roll ups and I too try to stay away from the sodium-rich stuff...Applewood Farms and the other pre-packaged brand from Whole Foods (can't remember!) are pretty good - actually fairly low...
as for the real turkey, lately I have come across a few supermarket delis that will happily carve a few slices from roasted turkeys that they have back there - just have to ask....
Your workout calories burned seem so much lower than what websites like livestrong and online calculators show...how do you determine them??
(I could use the help since I'm at a plateau and I suspect its because of faulty calories burned calculation)
p.s. I LOVE your blog! And the recipes you make are awesome!
Reem - Thanks for checking out TM! My calories burned are from my heart rate monitor that I wear. I wear an F6 Polar HRM. I do estimate my swim calories since I'm too chicken to wear mine in the pool (although swimmers wear them all the time). I always like to err on the "less" side if I'm unsure. It also is very dependant on one's height, weight, and fitness level. Basically, my husband can do the same thing as me and literally burn twice as many calories as me. Now that's injustice if I've ever seen it :)
Ani -- Sounds like I need to do some more investigative work. I'd love to find some alternate solutions for the turkey slices. Thank you so much for the ideas!
