We're back today following my nine-year-old girl. Not a big eater. Not a big snacker. She's always been that way for whatever reason. She just eats when she's hungry. Huh, interesting concept.
She is a gal who sleeps, eats and breathes of ways to beat her dad in Monopoly. They both are addicts.

My 8 year old packs her own lunches. She came home the other day and told me a girl thought she was weird that she had a hard boiled egg and zucchini bread in her lunch.
Glad to see another kids brings eggs to school! :)
So I've been wondering for awhile...Do your kids eat everything on their plates? Just curious... :)
I try to portion things out well so they can finish everything on their plates. This gal, yes. She gives me no grief. The middle one -- mostly everything. I have to give a reminder or two. the youngest one, no way. He will take his bite or two of everything like we require, but really, he barely eats dinner. Breakfast and lunch are usually good, but dinner is rarely finished (unless it's pancakes or pizza -- his two favs). And, I don't let him eat anything else. If he is really hungry, I allow him to go back to his dinner plate and now cold food and eat that. He never does. Amazingly, he never complains about it. It's just sort of a matter of fact thing.
Our 5 year old is the same way, and we do the same thing with his plate! The dinners he'll eat are pizza and fettucini alfredo. I make sure he at least eats some vegetables, but then I don't force it. I try to be really careful with the "healthy eating" so they don't rebel and go crazy on junk when I'm not around.
