Saturday mornings bring two things I really look forward to:
1.waffles
2. my sanity bike ride
The kids to help make these waffles and it makes plenty to freeze for later. Then I hit the road for my couple hours of ultimate solitude and peace (thanks to the team of willing grandparents and babysitters in the neighborhood!).
Whole Wheat Waffles
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 T canola oil
3 T sugar
½ tsp sea salt
3 tsp baking powder
3 eggs
2 cups skim milk
2 tsp cinnamon
Combine all ingredients and bake on a waffle iron (make sure you douse it with non stick cooking spray first!). YUM!

Mandi! Do you really cook w/ your helmet on?! LOL
Yes, that morning I was ready to head out the door and the waffle making needed a bit more tending from me. It was not staged for this blog -- believe it or not -- my mom just grabbed the camera and took my pic. I thought it was pretty funny and pretty typical! It is handy, too, to wear a helmet at all times around this house... My two year old is chucking everything across the room lately!
YUM! And look at your arms! Motivating!
I love that these waffles are whole wheat.
I am going to try these! We ate your gingerbread muffins last week and LOVED them! Thanks for these great whole wheat recipes!
